Arab India Spices – Major Investment in Food Processing

Arab India Spices (AIS), a leading importer and processor of pulses, spices, and food products in the Middle East, has strengthened its presence in the UAE through a Dh350 million investment in an advanced food production facility in Ajman.

The expansion significantly increased the company’s manufacturing and processing capabilities. Following the development, the entire factory premises covered more than 400,000 square feet, with the facility gaining the capacity to process an additional 36,000 tonnes of lentils annually. This expansion enabled AIS to better meet growing demand while maintaining efficiency, quality, and food safety standards.

The facility was inaugurated by Mohammed Al Muallam, Managing Director and Senior Vice President of DP World, alongside AIS Managing Director Harish Tahiliani, Director Mrs. Vidhya Harish, and other senior dignitaries.

One of the most notable aspects of AIS’s growth is its transformation from a 400-square-foot facility into a production operation spanning more than 400,000 square feet. Under Harish Tahiliani’s leadership, the company has focused on long-term investment, innovation, and operational development.

The expansion also supported AIS’s ambition to achieve an annual turnover of Dh1 billion. The Ajman facility represents a major milestone in the company’s journey and reinforces its contribution to the UAE’s food processing, manufacturing, and supply-chain sectors.
